As a child my mother and grandmother would religiously attend the “Door Buster Sales” held in the Golden Rule Department Store. They would take me along to get a position first in line. As the door opened they would run to the department where there were products, usually clothes, they wanted to purchase. I would follow and as they scooped up dresses, skirts and the like, they heaped them in my arms. It didn’t take long before I was covered with their potential purchases. Come to think of it, I was but one of a very few males at the sale. I think I enjoyed it.
